The trip to Las Vegas was quite an adventure for our team. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely and hopefully learned a lot. It was a terrific team-bonding experience.
We had a chance to meet new friends such as Becky Palmer from Practice Cafe in Texas, along with her mom. Becky is an extended part of our team working on the marketing aspect. The logo above is some of her excellent work.
Many of us left Vegas with a tremendous sense of pride – knowing how good a team we truly are.
After the meetings were over, I was chatting with Melissa about which presentation we each had liked best. She was surprised when I chose the Ritz-Carlton session on Legendary Service (click link).
It was a real challenge to pay attention during that. The presenter, Bryan Williams, spoke rather softly with a noticeable accent, the sound system was producing an echo, and some of the slide print was so small it was indecipherable.
That presentation was enjoyable, not so much for the entertainment value, but because the material was pure gold. Energy is transferable, and Bryan had real passion for the topic. His entire presentation was highly relevant and directly applicable to our own service culture at RYD.
I explained to Melissa that weak students depend on strong teachers, and the key to getting th emost out of a presentation is staying engaged (click link).
